Well, today I'm going to talk to you about my experiencie in the English class.
I think the class is very good. It's an opportunity to improve our English in a different way. Highschool and other universities are always focused in the gramatic rules. It's ok. No problem with that. But the English is a language like the spanish, so we will have to talk it someday and that's a big problem.
In this class we always talk in English. We can feel the emotion of talking in English. I get nervous when I do it, but it's ok. It's a good experience.
Besides that, we write in a blog n English. Of course! We have to write about a lot of things and subjects. About what we like, why we like it, what part of it, what we want, what we think, etc.
Well, I have to learn a lot of English (like other things in the life). I want to improve my English and the only way to do it is practicing.
In my life I always try to use this language because in my career I will need it if I go to a different place to show my movies. That's why I watch movies with english subtitles to understand the dialogs and the story.
But I have to be honest. I prefer the spanish. I think English is very cold language. I've never read poetry in English in fact. Spanish is a beautiful language with a lot of rhythms, nuances, words, rules, etc. I think it's the paradise for artists. However, to be honest again, the English sometimes surprises me.

Maybe perhaps
Well, I think that the environment subject it's complicated now. In these times, everyone does what they think it's correct and nobody can't say that is wrong. Freedom and equality are concepts and they were made forgetting something important: the Earth.
All that stuff about progress and future is bullshit if we don't know how to take care of our home. People should learn about friendly environment practices in the school and the highschool. Instead, they should learn in all their life. Now, nothing about this is happening but the problem is not the educational institution, is the person.
I do nothing to take care of our home, of our Earth and this is the real problem. I don't recycle but I sometimes ride my bike to short distances. I get emails of Greenpeace in my spam and I don't want to read it, etc.
I must admit that I'm not the best example to talk about this subject because my actions are not very friendly with the environment. I prefer to stay quiet.
I think we're empty, that we need conscience.

Welcome to The Matrix
Well, I'm not a geek like my english class partners. I prefer to read a book from Nietzsche and Cortázar (Julio, the argentinian writer) or to watch a movie from Stanley Kubrick.
In my life, I played two or three video games maybe but one of them I can remember with love because I completed it. It name was "Enter the Matrix".
In that time I loved "The Matrix", a film from The Wachowski brothers. In fact, this film inspired me to study cinema. Well, in the beginning I knew that the video game came to Chile and I wanted to buy it, but when I knew the price I said ¡NO! It's too much :(
I was waiting for a lot of time with a boring new PC. Then when I was walking in a mall I watched this video game and it cost. That was my chance. I bought it then I played. It was like an orgasm.
This video game is about Niobe and Ghost, two characters from The Matrix Trilogy. They have to pass some challenges to help Neo in his story.

Director REDEMPTION
Well, I chose an article in The Guardian webpage that was related to the next film from Cloverfield's director Matt Reeves.
The next film is the second part of "Rise of The Planet of the Apes" (2011). In the beginning Rupert Wyatt directed this movie, but problems came up. Wyatt was very upset for the decisions of the production company 20th Century Fox because they wanted to première the second part in 2014. The director thought that was very ambitious challenge. So, he quit the project.
But there was other director with a sucessful movie like "Cloverfield" (2008) who accepted it. I'm talking about Matt Reeves. He could beat Guillermo del Toro, J Blakeson, Juan Carlos Fresnalillo, Jeff Nichols and Juan Antonio Bayone and their films.
I chose the article because it reflects a common problem in the film production. The production and the director of the movie always take part in a fight because the first one wants to make a movie very fast to gain money, but the second one wants to have time to think the movie, to produce it with calm. It's a great chance to him that people knows his work and his point of view of the world and the cinema and he wants to do his best.

"Pies, para qué los quiero si puedo volar"
Well, I'm going to write about one of my favourite painters.
She is Frida Kahlo.
Frida Kahlo was born in Coyoacán, Mexico, in 1907. When she was 18 she had an accident in a bus transport. It was a very important event because it influenced her to do amazing paintings with a significant meanings. She met famous people about arts and politics like André Breton, Pablo Picasso, Diego Rivera, Marcel Duchamp, etc. Even the Kahlo story says that she had an affair with a very important russian politician: León Trotsky. She stayed in the muralist world of that time all her life. That's why she knew Diego Rivera and married with him. Also, many of the rumors say that she was bisexual. No one of this information has been refused.
I knew her in a big exhibition that came to Chile. I got there when I was in the highschool for an art class. I couldn't understand her in that moment because I didn't know the meanings of her paintings. In fact I was boring all the time in that place.
But the last week I watched a movie about her and her life. It was Frida (2002), from Julie Taymor. In this film Frida was played by Salma Hayek. I can understand now what's about this painter at the last.
Well, from this movie and the exhibition I love one of her paintings: Las dos Fridas (1939). I think this image (and all her work) has a strong and painful meaning. It has a big connection with all her life in fact.

A normal life (I think...)
The first term of 2012 was a cool term. I couldn't remember all the stuff that I did, but I can try.
This is my 3rd year of my career, Cine & Television. I filmed four (4) fiction short films. I directed one. Then I wrote the script of one of them and then I was the cinematographer of the third one. I was the producer in the last short film. I sent many of them to cinema festivals to have a chance to win a price.
My mom got a work in the first term and she was very happy about that, but now she's very tired. She has to do a lot of things because her work is about the social help of the chilean government. As you know, Chile has a lot of poverty and we will have to do a lot of things to make it disappear.
I met a lot of friends in the first term. One of my best friends got a girlfriend and that was the opportunity to get time to know other people. I knew cool dudes.

Well, I have to admit that my blogging experiencie was very good. I really liked it.
I prefer to write in English than to spell it. I can share with my classmates the experiencies of my life and hobbies but writting it in a different language. Sometimes I don't know some English words because I'm not a native from that language. In fact I love talking in Spanish, I love writting short stories and poems in Spanish. I think the Spanish language is very beautiful and complex. That's the reason why people from other countries have a lot of difficulties to learn it.
However, I like the English language and this kind of activities (like the English Blog) makes me improve all the stuff that I learnt on the school and highschool. I can know new words, new kind of expressions, I can improve my grammar skills, etc. I have to confess that I love the English past time. I studied a lot of time the difficult rules about the past tense on the school. I'm very grateful with my teacher in those times. I still remember her name. I read a lot of English books on highschool too. That helped me to know new words and a new kind of English, a new level.
Blogging in class is a very good activity to learn a new way to communicate with others. In fact I had the chance to do it when I had to resolve a copyright stuff with an england music band. I used its music for a short film and I had to warn them.

An ICEI Party
Well, I don't like to go to parties. OK NOT.
We have a lot of parties in the ICEI in a year. We do it in a place called "El hoyo" (the hole). There we put HI FI speakers to play music loudly all night. In those parties there are a lot kinds of music like reggaeton, pop, rock, salsa, tropical, etc. People love dancing inside "the hole", to feel any kind of body beside of you, to feel the heat in a cold night.
However, people get drunk in parties all the time. There are a lot of drinks like beer, ron, pisco, terremotos, etc. People drink to much. It's a cool situation. All people inside "the hole" are friends in that night. There are not fights or problems.
I like these parties because I can share time with my classmates. I talk with them about life and love, the most important things in the world. We laugh a lot.
When you come to our parties in ICEI to avoid problems the only thing you can do is NOT COME TO THE PARTY :)

Camila meets a transvestite

Well, I met Camila Alexis Rivera Moyano in a freezing classroom on a raining day in the Campus Juan Gómez Millas. She wore a black montgomery and a violet scarf. She looked very nice. I started to talk with her about her hobbies and what she did in her freetime. She was polite.
She started to talk me about her skill to cook in her house. She told me that she cook a lot of sweet things like pies, sopaipillas pasadas, cakes and tarts. I felt very hungry. She just smiled.
After a black coffee she told me that she loved photography. I felt very surprised about that because I like to take photos too. She had a camera that she uses to take photos to her family, friends and some stuff.
Then a very weird anecdote came from her: "Yesterdey I met a transvestite" she told.
We laugh a lot. I've never heard that. Then she told me that she went to record with friends a transvestite person. She did a video with the material from her camera.
"I felt very good. She/He was very nice" said Camila. They talked about what happens in a normal street night.
I thought that my interview finished, but the most weird thing came:
"The transvestite studies Social Work in the Academia de Humanismo Cristiano" she told.
Maybe the Church will want to get a meeting with that guy/girl.

Future Shorts
Well, today I'm writing on the blog about my favorite cinema website.
This is Future Shorts website. Future Shorts is a new kind of Cinema Film Festival. This is a planetary event with locations in Australia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Japan, Romania, Russia and Sweden.
The special thing about this festival is that the platform of distribution is online (by internet). That creates a big audience with people who like short films but not any kind of films, just the good ones. The Future Shorts Agency is working with experimental films and videoclips too at this moment. Sometimes It does Future Shorts parties around the world to celebrate with the global audience and to show some new short films.
Well, the webpage has a very nice interface. On the left has all the sections about the Festival with locations, dates, prices, contacts, "about us" information, awards, the festival blog, etc. At the bottom are all the links to know Future Shorts on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
I don't visit this website very often because I really like the Future Shorts YouTube Channel. There are a lot of short films and videoclips. There are Future Short parties videos too. I visit all the time that channel. It inspires me to do a good work when I'm filming.

451

Well, one of my favorite books is "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. I read this book when I was in highschool. I read a lot of books with fantastic stories and I liked it. Now I like Julio Cortázar short stories (an argentinian writer).
The Ray Bradbury's book was edited on 1953 and it original language is english.
I like this book because the subject of it is a dystopian future where books were burnt by firefighters. It reminds me the history of some nations and it makes my imagination fly. This book was edited in a complex moment in the human history. In United States of America there was a lot of censorship, in the Nazi Germany books being burned and the nuclear bombs being launched in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Here is my favorite quote of this book:
"I'm seventeen and I'm crazy. My uncle says the two always go together. When people ask your age, he said, always say seventeen and insane."
This extract is from the conversation between Clarisse and Guy Montag who have a very friendly relationship in the story of Fahrenheit 451.
Amazon Review
By: A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This book is absolutely amazing. It describes a time in the future where censorship prevails and minds are caged. Nobody has original thoughts; with the abolishing of books creativity was lost as well. Guy Montag, the protagonist, is a fireman (firemen burn books in this story) who has to fight to pull himself from the grip of an overpowering government and tradition, only to see that it is all useless (why teach to people who can't understand?). The novel shows what censorship can do to a society, and why individuals must not accept the norm without questioning its integrity and implications. Overall, read this book immediately and apply what you learn from it into everyday life.
I agree with all the points of this review. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK AND APPLY WHAT YOU LEARN FROM IT INTO EVERDAY OF YOUR EMPTY LIFE.

Good friends, Good photos
Well, I have a friend and his name is Matías Gálvez Atenas. I'm two years older than him, but we have a good friendship. I knew him on highschool on my last year there.
He took me a photo when I was acting like Don Quijote de la Mancha for a highschool's week presentation. I saw it on Facebook someday and I added Matías to my friends list. I started to talk with him. I knew his hobby in that moment.
The photo of the top was taken for him. He likes photography and take photos (yes, they are not the same thing). This photo is taken in a Montego street on Jamaica. He took it on his summer holidays.
I like this photo because... To be honest, I don't know why. I just like it. It's well composed, etc. I love it because is out of focus. I think that makes it special. That provokes on me weird feelings. I feel uncomfortable and attracted at the same time.
However, the photo represents a traffic signal. This says to you that you have to cross the street or you don't. In this case, it says "walk now and cross the street. DO IT FAST".
My friend has a lot, A LOT of good pictures. If you want to see more check it on: MATIKUKI PHOTOGRAPHY.

University Tips / Location: Juan Gómez Millas Campus
1.- Keep walking If you want to move to any place of the campus, you have to walk. Inside the campus there are a lot of paths to get to any faculty or any place to get rest, to think, to talk with friends, to sleep in grass, etc. Maybe It could be confusing sometimes, but If you use them everyday you will be OK to get everywhere in the campus. Also you can help to other people who is lost in campus and get a new friend perhaps. But the campus is not small. You will have to walk a lot. BUY A CAR. Inside the campus there are car tracks too.
Buying Movies
Outside of Faculty of Philosophy you can find a great stock of different movies to a low cost. If they don’t have the film that you want, you can ask the seller if he can search and bring you the movie.
Tear Gas at Lunch
Sometimes the police get inside of the Campus looking for the hooded classmates. They throw small stones and hide in the Campus. To fight them, the police reply with tear gas. If you are eating, your food is going to taste more salted. When this happens, you dream with one of the few rooms with air conditioning. If you are lucky, you could be under arrest by a sweet police man.

Love and hate with FRIENDS

In a beginning I heard about a TV serie called FRIENDS. I didn't know anything about that. People and friends talked a lot about it, but in that moment I didn't have cable to watch it. I felt very sad when my friends were laughing meanwhile they talked about the TV serie. All this stuff made that I felt a lot of hate against FRIENDS.
However, my parents put cable the last year. So, when I am in home in the afternoon I watch TV and I do channel-surf (zapping). I watched FRIENDS someday with a lot of patience. I tried to forget all the hate what I felt. It was a good move. I started to watch FRIENDS always, all the situations they showed in there, the characters, the dialogs, etc. All this stuff was very cool. I loved it so much. I started to thinking what I missed when I was a child, when I was in the highschool.
FRIENDS had ten seasons and a lot of awards. A lot of audience too. I recommend to you to wach it, because the story it's simple: six friends, living in a department and a lot, a lot, a lot of funny situations.

My Personal Computer

Well, I have to admit that the life without technology really sucks. It makes the life easy.
The title of this post says what is my favorite piece of technology: My personal computer. But the laptop model. I never had a PC, but someday my sister (she's five years older than me) gave me her laptop. It's was an awesome moment. I can't remember when she did it, but I was 16 years old maybe.
This laptop had a smart-touch screen, in fact it looked like a tablet, but a I had to use a pen to touch the screen. When It worked, I usually wrote short stories, saw DVD movies, surfed in the web, talked with my friends on Facebook, etc. I use it always, everyday. I spent a lot of hours in front the laptop screen. But, the screen stopped to work a few days before. My mom had to give me her "netbook", because a I need the PC to do university works.
However, I like laptops because I love writing. I spend a lot of hours wrinting some stuff like short stories, short films scripts, etc.
I can't imagine my life without a laptop. I wouldn't write anything to anyone and I will spend a lot of hours in front of the TV screen maybe.

LP
I usually listen to all kind of music. In fact, I take all the recommendations from my friends. In this moment of my life I'm knowing Thrash Metal bands because my best friend listen to that kind of music.
But If I have to choose one band It is Linkin Park.
Linkin Park is a "rock band" says Wikipedia. I don´t think so. In fact, the music of LP (Linkin Park abbrevation) sounds like a metal music with rap and rock addition. LP played the original soundtrack from Transformers films but I knew them from before. I was in the highschool when I started to listen to LP. I had a friend that one day came to class listening to Faint, one song of Meteora's album. I knew LP in that moment.
I like LP because their songs have strong feelings. But the truth is that I like Chester Bennington voice, the vocalist of LP. When he yells in a song is the time that I feel the meaning of the music. I feel brave, strong with a lot of adrenaline to do things and crazy stuffs.
I think the best album is Meteora. I like all the hits from that album.
Well, the video I posted before is a Adele's cover that LP did in a concert. When I play drums, I usually play this song.
